The Ministry of Labor proposed to provide care payments to working parents of disabled children

The Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft decree that will allow parents of children with disabilities to work and receive care benefits. This will be possible under the condition of part-time employment, TASS reports citing the department’s press service.
Parents and guardians caring for children with disabilities or citizens with group I disabilities since childhood receive 10 thousand rubles each, but now such payments are only due to those who are not working. Now they want to provide this opportunity to those who work part-time, remotely, at home, under contracts of an author’s order and civil law nature, the subject of which is the performance of work and the provision of services, as well as individual entrepreneurs and the self-employed.
The initiative was prepared on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, given during SPIEF. It is expected to come into force on January 1, 2024.
Among other instructions of Mr. Putin was security payments of monthly benefits for children, including if the income of able-bodied family members increases while receiving payments. All instructions were given before October 1, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was appointed responsible for their implementation.
