The Moscow City Court left Ilya Yashin in jail in the case of fakes about the army

The Moscow City Court at a closed session recognized the arrest of the municipal deputy Ilya Yashin (recognized as a foreign agent) in the case of spreading fakes about the Russian army as legal.
“The court ruling on the choice of a measure of restraint in the form of detention should be left unchanged, the appeal of the lawyers – without satisfaction,” the judge announced the decision (quote from RIA Novosti).
The meeting was held behind closed doors at the request of the prosecutor. As lawyer Vadim Prokhorov said, the representative of the state prosecution asked the court to close the meeting so as not to provide Ilya Yashin with “a platform for popularizing his anti-war ideas,” reports SOTA. During the announcement of the decision, Ilya Yashin held an anti-war poster in his hands.
A criminal case against Ilya Yashin was opened on July 12. He was charged with spreading deliberately false information about the armed forces of the Russian Federation (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason was the video of the opposition on YouTube about the events in the Ukrainian Bucha. Ilya Yashin pleads not guilty. Since July 13, he has been in jail.
