The MMA Union of Russia expelled the Amur MMA Federation from its membership after the death of a 16-year-old participant in the Mixed Martial Arts Cup in Belogorsk from a blow to the head. The fight was held without protective helmets, which are mandatory in the 16–17 age group.
“The Presidium decided to exclude the Amur MMA Federation in connection with the violation of the rules of the sport during the competition, which resulted in the death of the athlete,” says the decision of the MMA Union, which was signed by the head of the organization Fedor Emelianenko and is available TASS.
