Some Britons have begun to notice that a number of supermarkets have begun to have problems with the supply of chicken eggs, and some have completely limited sales. In this regard, residents of the UK were warned of a possible shortage of the product. It is reported by The Mirror.
Some pubs around the country have begun offering hash browns, sausages and onion rings instead of eggs. The British began to resent the fact that the authorities can send large amounts of money as assistance to Ukraine, but they cannot arrange food supplies.
It is also reported that, according to official figures, a dozen eggs have already risen in price by more than 22%.
The UK produced 11.3 billion chicken eggs last year, but another 1.4 billion had to be brought in to meet it.
The supply of eggs was under threat due to inflation in the country, as well as an outbreak of bird flu. Farmers themselves have been hit by chicken feed prices that have risen in price due to the Ukrainian crisis and rising energy costs.
