The Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia proposes to make producers and importers of goods more sensitive to the environment. The Ministry is going to oblige them to ensure that the containers that have become unusable, in which their products were packed, are sent not to landfills, but to recycling points.
Currently, manufacturers and importers must dispose of all products that have deteriorated before they hit the shelves. Until recently, this did not concern Tara.
Meanwhile, the developers of the document emphasize that almost any container thrown into a landfill harms the environment. The decomposition products of not only plastic, but even glass and metal, pollute the soil, penetrate into groundwater, and from there into open water bodies. This harms the environment.
Therefore, from next year, manufacturers will have to make sure that half of all containers made of plastic, glass, metal, as well as paper, rubber and wood that have become unusable are recycled. The corresponding bill of the Ministry of Natural Resources has been submitted for public discussion.
