The Ministry of Justice included four German organizations in the list of undesirables – Kommersant

Ministry of Justice contributed The German Society for Eastern European Studies, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, XZ gGmbH and the Mobile Academy for Gender Democracy and Peacemaking (OWEN) are included in the list of undesirable organizations. The Prosecutor General’s Office made the corresponding decision on February 14.

The German Society for the Study of Eastern Europe is one of the largest associations of German researchers in the Eastern region, as indicated on the organization’s website. The activities of the foundation are financed by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The XZ gGmbH, or XZ foundation, positions itself as an anti-propaganda agency. The foundation was founded in 2023, with its support journalist Mikhail Zygar (declared a foreign agent) created a series of historical videos “Great Russian Villains.” The fund’s website is currently empty.

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation was named after the first German president. The goals of the organization are to promote democracy and support outstanding students. The foundation was associated with the Social Democratic Party of Germany.

OWEN was founded in 1992 and operates in Berlin. The goal of the project was the development of civil society, gender democracy and peace. The organization conducts political and educational work in Germany and on the world stage.

Now there are a total of 146 undesirable organizations in the Ministry of Justice register. There is criminal liability for cooperation with undesirable organizations in Russia.
