The Ministry of Justice included two new organizations in the list of undesirable organizations: the Russia-EU Civil Society Forum (EU – Russia Civil Society Forum eV) and the Institute for Statecraft. The first organization is registered in Germany, the second – in the UK. This is reported on website Ministry of Justice.
The Russia-EU Civil Society Forum was declared undesirable by the Prosecutor General’s Office in April. The department considered that its activities were aimed at establishing contacts with Russian emigrants in order to use them to the detriment of Russia’s interests. The organization prepared reports on the state of civil society in Russia and the European Union.
“Institute of Public Administration” recognized Prosecutor General’s Office unsolicited in March. As stated by the department, the organization was working “to conduct campaigns to discredit the bodies” of the Russian authorities and therefore posed a “threat to the foundations of the constitutional order, territorial integrity and security” of Russia. The institute was founded in 2009. It is headed by Christopher Donnelly, former adviser to NATO Secretary General.
