The Ministry of Justice filed an administrative claim with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to recognize the “international LGBT social movement” as extremist and to ban its activities in Russia, according to a message on website Ministry of Justice.
As the department notes, “various signs and manifestations of an extremist orientation, including incitement of social and religious discord” were identified in the activities of the LGBT movement. It is reported that the hearing in the Supreme Court on the claim of the Ministry of Justice will be held on November 30, 2023.
