The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation did not support the establishment in Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the provision on liability for insulting a participant in a special operation. This follows from the response of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the appeal of the head of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection Nina Ostanina.
We are talking about adding the corpus delicti provided for in Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Insulting a Military Personnel” with a new qualifying feature – insulting a member of the Military Military District, regardless of the presence of a disability or awards awarded to him.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained its position regarding this initiative by the fact that there is a discrepancy with the subject of legal regulation.
Earlier, lawyer Victoria Sitdikova recalled that participants in community chats were fined 20 thousand rubles under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for offensive statements. The expert emphasized that threats, slander, criticism of the authorities, inciting ethnic hatred and calls for violence when communicating in such a chat can also lead to administrative liability.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to initiate criminal proceedings in relation to the President of the Interregional Uzbek Community “Vatandosh” Usman Baratov. The reason was Baratov’s post regarding participants in a special military operation on social networks.
