The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia issued order on the abolition of mandatory fingerprinting for refugees and people granted temporary asylum in the Russian Federation. The document came into force from the moment of publication – November 1.
“Dactyloscopic registration and photographing are not carried out in relation to foreign citizens who have been recognized as refugees or received temporary asylum on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the text of the order says.
Fingerprint collection, photography and medical examination for all migrants entering Russia for a long period of time have been carried out since December 2021.
