The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, in a video published on the telegram channel “MVD MEDIA”, said that police detained two suspects in the murder of a woman in Moscow, which occurred in June 1997.
According to Volk, in June 1997, the body of a woman with multiple stab wounds was found in the attic of a 12-story residential building on Plyushcheva Street in the capital’s Perovo district. She indicated that the search for the killers in hot pursuit was unsuccessful; a criminal case was opened into the incident under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder”).
A representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that after more than 20 years, specialists conducted molecular genetic examinations, which allowed them to trace the alleged criminals, who were subsequently detained in the Moscow region. Volk added that two men, who were 18-19 years old at the time of the crime, pleaded guilty to their crime, and an investigation is currently underway.
