The Ministry of Internal Affairs accepted the petition of the ex-military and volunteer from France, Adrian Boke, who covered the events in the Donbass, to be recognized as a refugee in Russia, informs department press office. The Frenchman turned to the migration unit of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.
“In Moscow, employees of the migration unit of the Metropolitan Police accepted the petition of French journalist Adrian Boke to recognize him as a refugee on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the report says.
The department explained that this decision would be made "on the basis of federal legislation, taking into account the available information about the persecution of a journalist for an active pro-Russian position."
On January 16, it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs ready consider Boke's application for asylum in Russia. According to the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, in order to obtain political asylum in Russia, the former French military must apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the relevant documents. It was clarified that in December 2022, the Russian department sent an explanation to the volunteer on the procedure for applying for political asylum by the Russian Federation, as well as with an application for recognition as a refugee and an application for temporary asylum in the country.
On January 11, Boke told TASS that asked Russian citizenship and political asylum. According to the RIA Novosti agency, the appeal from the Frenchman was received in mid-December 2022.
Adrian Boke is a former French military man. Currently, he is an expert on NATO weapons of the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine. He is also responsible for issues related to volunteering.
Earlier, Boke publicly announced the provocation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bucha. He arguedthat he saw how Ukraine was preparing a staged massacre of civilians.
On September 26, 2022, a Frenchman was attacked in Istanbul. Two men inflicted several cut wounds on Boke with a knife, but he managed to escape. bokeh declared "RIA Novosti" that this attack was organized by agents of the Security Service of Ukraine. In October, the French Foreign Ministry declaredthat do not have information on this incident.
