Russia has developed and registered a drug to combat antibiotic resistance

The Russian Ministry of Health has registered a drug for the treatment of bacterial infections resulting from antibiotic resistance, that is, the body’s resistance to this type of drug. The department reported this on Friday, April 5.

The medicine was developed by the N.F. Center. Gamaleya. It is specified that this will be a full-cycle drug produced in the Russian Federation in the form of tablets.

“The unique development of Russian scientists is intended for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by antibiotic-resistant microorganisms,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The department noted that the evaluation of the drug showed a favorable safety profile and confirmed its high effectiveness.

The drug is planned to be used against antibiotic-resistant bacteria – Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and others.
