Director of the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Gintsburg said that the updated composition of the Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine was approved by the Russian Ministry of Health.
Once the outer packaging, that is, the box in which the vials of the vaccine are supplied, is approved by Roszdravnadzor, the Gamaleya Research Center will have the right to enter 135 thousand produced doses of the vaccine into the electronic accounting system and begin shipping to the regions, Gunzburg said.
The completion of the study of the updated vaccine was reported in November; no significant side effects were identified in volunteers.
