The Ministry of Finance will consider the issue of state regulation of prices for beer and cider

The Government of the Russian Federation has received an appeal from State Duma deputies regarding state regulation of prices for beer, beer drinks, cider, poire and mead; it has already been sent to the Ministry of Finance for consideration. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported this, transmits TASS.

“The appeal was received by the government of the Russian Federation and sent to the Ministry of Finance of Russia for expert study,” they said.

On October 18, the Duma Committee on Economic Policy sent a letter to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, asking him to work on the issue of state regulation of prices for beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead, wrote agency with reference to the document. This is necessary to reduce the illegal circulation of such alcohol, as well as to protect the life and health of consumers, ensure competition and bring additional revenue to the budget, the deputies explained.

In Russia, prices for vodka, brandy, cognac, liqueur and other alcohol with a strength of more than 28% are already regulated. In addition, from January 1, 2023, a minimum retail price for sparkling wines has been established in Russia – 239 rubles. for 0.75 l.

Previously the Ministry of Finance offered from January 1, 2024, index the minimum prices for them. According to the draft order, the minimum retail price of 0.5 liters of vodka will be 299 rubles. instead of 281 rubles, brandy (and other products made from grape, wine and other materials) – 403 rubles. instead of 375 rubles, and cognac – 556 rubles. instead of 517 rub.
