Russia will supply more than 75 million tons of oil to China in 2023 – Kommersant

The head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, said that Russia has already supplied more than 75 million tons of oil to China this year. According to him, this is 25% more than last year.

“Based on the results of eight months of 2023, it became the main supplier of oil to China, ahead of Saudi Arabia,” said Mr. Sechin, speaking at the Russian-Chinese energy business forum (quote from TASS).

The head of Rosneft also drew attention to the fact that this year he will supply China with more than 30 billion cubic meters. m of gas, which is a new historical record.

In welcoming the participation of the forum, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the current close cooperation between China and Russia in the energy sector helps ensure energy security and sustainable development not only of both countries, but of the entire world. He also added that “Beijing is ready to work with Moscow to build a high-level energy partnership.”

Previously, the Customs Administration of the People’s Republic of China reportedthat the total trade turnover between Russia and China in the three quarters of this year increased by 29.5%, to $176.4 billion.
