The Ministry of Finance has developed project government resolutions on increasing limits on preferential mortgage programs “Family Mortgage” and “Preferential Mortgage”. It is proposed to increase them by 200 billion rubles. (up to 4.84 trillion rubles) and by 150 billion rubles. (up to 6.19 trillion rubles).

The increase in limits is explained by their demand among the largest lenders. By February 15, according to the Ministry of Finance, participants in mortgage programs used over 90% of the limit. Some lenders have used up the entire limit and disbursement under the programs has been stopped.

The “Family Mortgage” and “Preferential Mortgage” programs were valid until July 1, 2024. In his federal message, President Vladimir Putin proposed extending them until 2030. In December 2023, mortgages worth RUB 32.3 billion were issued. – 42% more than in November. The most popular was “Family Mortgage” (about 40% of borrowers); “Preferential mortgages” were issued by 32% of borrowers.
