The Ministry of Energy announced the completion of the integration of the energy systems of the Crimea and Russia

The integration of the energy systems of Crimea and the rest of Russia is complete, said Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak.

“Now the energy system of the Crimea is even more integrated, and thanks to network construction activities, we can provide independent energy supply to new territories of the Russian Federation – Kherson and Zaporozhye regions,” Grabchak noted (quote according to TASS).

He clarified that it all started with ensuring the energy independence of Crimea and ensuring stable ties with the country’s energy system by combining the republic’s energy system with the southwestern energy system of the Krasnodar Territory.

“A lot has been done, and much remains to be done. We are in constant motion, constantly searching for optimal technical solutions to improve the reliability of power supply, connect new consumers,” Grabchak added.

At the end of November, General Director of Krymenergo Andrey Tsurkanenko informedthat the power supply of new territories is provided by the Crimea without energy shortage for both sides. He noted that the staff shortage of specialists also did not affect the provision of electricity to new territories. Specialists from Crimea and new regions are working together, he concluded.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the annexation of the regions to Russia. Putin stressed that the inhabitants of the annexed territories “become citizens of the Russian Federation forever.” On October 5, Putin signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation. On October 19, martial law was declared in the new territories.
