The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, considers the situation with forest fires in the Ryazan region severe, but controllable. According to him, the department has information about arson in the forests of the region. This information is currently being verified.

According to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, two of the seven fires were localized. It is noted that extinguishing fires is complicated by severe weather conditions. Alexander Kurenkov did not predict the timing of the localization of the entire area of the fire.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who is on the government’s firefighting commission, said the crown fire in the Ryazan region is very strong. At the same time, he hopes that the localization will be completed within one or two days.
Earlier today, on August 25, for a flyby of burning forests in the Ryazan region, in addition to Sergei Sobyanin and Alexander Kurenkov arrived Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Grigorenko and Minister of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov. It was reported that officials plan to visit the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Mari El, where forests are also burning.
Over the past day, the area of fires in the Ryazan region has increased by 3 thousand hectares and is 15 thousand hectares. There are currently six forest fires. About 9.5 thousand people are involved in extinguishing, 15 aircraft are involved.
In Russia fixed 126 forest fires with a total area of 110 thousand hectares. On August 23, the government established a commission to eliminate forest fires. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there is not enough equipment to extinguish fires.
