One of the main events of the new season of the Moscow Operetta Theater is its 95th anniversary.

The theater approached the anniversary date thoroughly: instead of the traditional concert, this time they are preparing to stage a musical based on the novel of the same name by Alexei Tolstoy “The Silver Prince”, which will premiere in November this year. The music for the new performance was written by composer Arkady Ukupnik, the libretto by Karen Kavaleryan, the director and choreographer was Valery Arkhipov.

And that’s not it. This season, the theater is preparing another premiere – The Merry Widow by Ferenc Lehar directed by Alexei Frandetti, and is also taking steps towards the revival of the play Mowgli, which was previously staged at the theater. And in order to have a place to “roam around”, the theater management is thinking of actively using one more stage on the Kuznetsk bridge, where chamber events are already taking place.

By the way, along with the anniversary of the Operetta Theater, its director, Honored Art Worker Vladimir Tartakovsky, whom the troupe merrily and lovingly congratulated at the gathering of the troupe, celebrates his personal anniversary (70 years).
