The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported 15.8 thousand flooded houses due to floods – Kommersant

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that due to floods in 33 regions of the country, more than 15.8 thousand residential buildings and 28 thousand household plots remain flooded. There are also 111 bridges and 84 road sections in the water, the ministry’s press service reported in Telegram channel.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived in Orsk, Orenburg region, where 3.7 thousand houses remain flooded. At a meeting with flood victims, he said that people should not experience difficulties in obtaining compensation, as well as the necessary medical and psychological support.

Since the beginning of April, a state of emergency has been in effect in several regions of Russia due to floods. The most difficult situation is in the Orenburg region, where more than 14.3 thousand residential buildings are flooded. April 15, Governor of the Kurgan Region Vadim Shumkov statedthat a “colossal” volume of water is approaching Kurgan. He called for immediate evacuation.
