Rescuers and equipment from five regions are working to extinguish fires in the Ryazan region. This was announced by the Deputy head of the EMERCOM of Russia Ilya Denisov. He did not specify which regions help extinguish fires in the Ryazan region.
“On the part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, groups of 5 neighboring subjects of the Russian Federation were involved in extinguishing fires, 9 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, 310 personnel and 77 pieces of equipment were involved,” he said during a trip to the region (quoted by TASS).
Earlier today, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin arrived at the firefighting site in the Ryazan region. According to him words, fires in the region are extinguished by more than 400 people and 120 pieces of equipment from Moscow. On August 17, smog from the Ryazan fires reached Moscow.
According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, the area of natural fires in the Ryazan region is about 160 hectares. In total, the fire covered about 8.6 thousand hectares. In three districts of the Ryazan region, an emergency mode was introduced due to fires: Ryazan, Spassky and Klepikovo. On the fact of forest fires in the Spassky district, a criminal case was initiated on careless handling of fire. On August 21, two settlements were evacuated.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at the moment 100 natural fires are active in 18 regions of Russia. The most difficult situation with fires in the Ryazan region, in the Nizhny Novgorod region and in the Republic of Mari El, the situation is also difficult due to fires. In Ugra, the area of fires has increased six times over the past day.
