The Ministry of Education has developed requirements for dictionaries for officials

The requirements for the compilation and frequency of publication of normative dictionaries were prepared by the Ministry of Education of Russia. On Tuesday, the ministry submitted a draft of the corresponding resolution of the Government of Russia for public discussion.
Recall that the concept of “normative vocabulary” entered into public use after the amendments were made to the law “On the state language of the Russian Federation” in February of this year. The updated version of the document, in particular, states that the norms of the modern Russian literary language are understood as the rules fixed in normative dictionaries, reference books and grammars. They will be used when writing laws and other regulations, modern language norms will be used in the preparation of basic documents, in education and for film screenings.
True, there are no regulatory dictionaries yet; the first one, according to the plans of lawmakers, should appear in 2025. But the rules by which they will be drawn up are ready now.
As it became known to MK, normative dictionaries will have to fix the norms of the language for its use as a state language. The composition of the dictionaries will include the words of the modern Russian literary language, as well as a list of foreign words used in modern Russian oral or written speech. The main requirement for such borrowings is that they should not have common analogues among native Russian words. The path to the dictionaries will be closed to dialect words, jargon, vernacular, and even more so profanity. However, special scientific terms will also not appear on their pages.
It is planned to publish and distribute dictionaries in electronic form. The dictionary is planned to be republished annually.
