The Russian Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov on the sidelines of the SPIEF commented on rumors about upcoming changes in the Unified State Examination.
In an interview with TASS, he noted that no significant adjustments were planned in the technology and content of the exam in 2024.
“I want to immediately reassure the graduates of next year… Here stability is also important for us,” he said.
According to him, the position of the ministry is such that students should know in advance about the rules for passing the unified state exam, and all changes should be announced in advance.
Earlier it was reported that Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova received a request from State Duma deputies with a proposal to instruct the Ministry of Education to assess the possibility of canceling the exam. Rosobrnadzor reported that at present, the abolition of the USE in Russia is not provided for even in the conditions of Russia’s withdrawal from the Bologna system. At the same time, Vice Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy noted that the issue of abolishing the Unified State Examination “is being discussed and will be discussed.” According to him, this is “a necessary step towards the return of Russian education to the traditional national track.”
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his address to the Federal Assembly, announced the need to return to the traditional for the Russian Federation period of study in universities from 4 to 6 years.
