The first stage of integration of higher education institutions in new regions of Russia should be completed before the end of 2023, said the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of SPIEF.
According to him, this year will also see the first admission campaign according to the all-Russian rules in the universities of new regions. Falkov also said that budget-funded places will be allocated to universities in new regions this year.
He noted that universities will have to rework their educational programs to Russian standards.
In October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed federal constitutional laws on the admission of new territories to Russia and the formation of new constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Russia included LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
