The Ministry of Education of Russia supported the proposal to show patriotic videos about the military operation in Ukraine in schools. Yana Lantratova, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, took the initiative to provide schools with such films for the time being (“A Just Russia – For Truth”).

“It is important to use video materials aimed at creating a sense of patriotism, love for one’s Motherland, pride in one’s country as part of the study of the subject “History”, as well as as part of extracurricular activities and additional education for children,” the Ministry of Education said in a letter (quoted from TASS).

According to the ministry, the format of video materials with live dialogues of combatants “can certainly be used” in extracurricular activities “Talk about the important.” The ministry also indicated that such a format would be useful in preparing materials, in particular, on the topics “Special Forces Day”, “National Unity Day”, “Defender of the Fatherland Day”.

Earlier, Yana Lantratova sent a letter with the initiative to create a series of videos for schoolchildren about the Russian military operation in the Ministry of Defense. We are talking about creating a cycle called “What are we fighting for?”, in the preparation of which the participants in the military operation will take part. The students themselves should talk to them. On July 10, the parliamentarian announced that she had received approval from the defense department.

Information about the Russian military operation in Ukraine was also included in the new history textbooks for schoolchildren. Head of the Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov saidthat they were prepared “in the shortest possible time” with the participation of presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, as well as MGIMO rector Anatoly Torkunov and historian Alexander Chubaryan.
