Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov proposed to keep the mechanism of national projects after 2024 and aim them at restructuring the economy and ensuring technological sovereignty. He stated this while speaking at the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, which was held by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We propose to maintain this mechanism by focusing new national projects on the tasks of structural transformation of the economy, ensuring technological sovereignty and developing the supply-side economy,” the minister said, recalling that national projects are completed in 2024.
According to Reshetnikov, for the structural transformation of the economy it is necessary to focus on this all available resources of business and the state. “The most effective tool for such work are national projects,” he said. According to Reshetnikov, national projects really allow, in the conditions of a limited amount of time and budget, to achieve “visible for both citizens and business” indicators.
Also, according to the minister, it is necessary to continue stimulating investment flows and supporting entrepreneurship. He noted that the Russian economy has resources and it is important to direct them to the creation of products that are not on the market or their share is very small – these are aircraft, automotive and microelectronics.
In the summer of 2020, the president instructed the government, with the participation of the State Council, to adjust the national projects to reflect the new national goals. The deadline for their implementation was shifted from 2024 to 2030. At the same time, the authorities began to raise the issue of implementing projects after 2024 from 2022.
