The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) will coordinate the foreign economic relations of the Russian regions. Corresponding decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin published on the portal of legal information.
The Ministry of Economic Development has been ordered to comply with the principles of state policy in foreign economic contacts in all regions of the Russian Federation. In addition, the ministry will have to coordinate the work of federal and regional authorities to promote the interests of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in foreign economic relations with foreign states, inform the federal authorities about the relevant events that are held in the regions, and collect and analyze the information received. The Ministry of Economic Development will annually report on this work by March 1.
The ministry will also have to provide legal and methodological support to the regions when concluding agreements, hold specialized interregional forums, conferences and meetings in cooperation with foreign states.
The Decree entered into force on the day of its publication.
On August 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a special settlement procedure for foreign trade contracts for the supply of Russian agricultural products. Now, when making such settlements, it is allowed to use special ruble accounts of type “Z” and special currency accounts of type “Z”. The government will establish a list of agricultural products that will fall under these measures. The list must be approved within 30 days.
