In order to strengthen the fight against spam calls, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia proposed that telecom operators introduce a mechanism to block auto-dialing. About it reported the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.
“The Ministry of Digital Development proposes that operators introduce a mechanism that will allow blocking auto-dialing until the purpose of the call is confirmed,” the message says. The department believes that due to this intrusive telephone advertising will be less.
Telecom operators will be able to define auto-dialing using special software. The department has already discussed this idea with market representatives. The companies believe that such a step “may become not only an obstacle to spam, but also an obstacle to scammers,” the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development added.
In addition, the department suggested that telecom operators, “if technically possible,” notify subscribers about which company is calling them. Mintsifra reminded that such services already exist. The agency also proposes to make such a service free and built-in by default.
In summer, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and telecom operators launched a service with which Russians can complain about calls and spam messages. It is planned to block such ads within three days
