The Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of Russia recommended giving a day off to employees of IT companies, telecom operators and the media on Monday, June 26, due to a busy and emotional Saturday. On June 24, an attempted armed rebellion took place in Russia, affecting several regions.
The ministry said in a statement: “Saturday was a very stressful and emotional day. Therefore, we recommend giving tomorrow a day off for employees of IT companies, telecom operators and the media working in regions that were at the epicenter of events yesterday and not busy with critical tasks”.
The ministry also notes that many employees of the department spent the weekend at their jobs, so it was decided to give them a day off on Monday.
On June 24, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin declared Monday, June 26, a non-working day in the city “in order to minimize risks.” However, an exception is made for authorities, enterprises of a continuous cycle, the military-industrial complex and urban services. This decision was due to the fact that a counter-terrorist operation was declared in the capital due to the rebellion of the Wagner PMC.
