The Ministry of Digital Development proposed to the government to increase funding for preferential lending programs for IT companies by 25% until the end of 2023, a department representative told Vedomosti. He recalled that this year the federal budget has allocated 2 billion rubles for preferential IT loans. Additional financing in the amount of RUB 500 million. can be obtained by redistributing the budget from other departmental projects included in the Digital Economy national program, the interlocutor clarified.

In September, Vedomosti reported that the Ministry of Digital Development had to recalculate the funds allocated to finance preferential lending programs in connection with the increase in the Central Bank’s key rate. Since the beginning of summer, it was raised to 8.5%, then to 12%, and on September 15 by another 1 percentage point to 13%. Under the preferential lending scheme for the IT industry, the ministry compensates the bank that issues the preferential loan for the difference between the preferential rate paid by the recipient of the loan and the key rate of the Central Bank, Alexey Voylukov, vice president of the Association of Russian Banks, explained to Vedomosti.
