The Russian military department supported the All-Russian action “Give the name back to the hero”, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The initiator of the action was the Yunarmiya. Hundreds of regional branches are involved in the action, which by May 9 will put in order numerous memorials and monuments erected in honor of the defenders of the Fatherland. This work is carried out, in particular, in Moscow, Moscow region, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Sevastopol, Vladivostok.
In addition, young men and women are searching for archival information about the fallen defenders of the Fatherland in order to identify the names of unknown soldiers who died defending the Fatherland. It is planned that on May 9, in many cities, Yunarmiya Posts No. 1 will be put up at memory memorials.
Since the beginning of the action, 905 obelisks and memorials, 915 military graves have been put in order. In total, it is planned to put in order 5802 obelisks and memorials, 7843 military graves.
