The Ministry of Defense spoke about the advancement of assault detachments in Artemovsk

During the battles for Artemovsk, the assault detachments were able to liberate three quarters over the past 24 hours, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports in its daily report on the progress of the special operation.

“In the Donetsk direction, assault detachments liberated three quarters in the western part of the city of Artemovsk over the past day,” the report says.

In general, in the Donetsk direction, Russian fighters were able to eliminate up to 255 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, as well as several units of military equipment, including one Grad MLRS and two D-20 howitzers. The ammunition depot of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was also destroyed.

As the Ministry of Defense added, more than 65 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed in the Krasno-Limansky direction in a day, and up to 60 people were lost in the Kupyansky direction.

On April 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that units of the Airborne Forces blocked Artemovsk from the northern and southern outskirts. Fighting in the city center is carried out by Wagner PMC fighters, Russian forces already control most of the city.

The military operation of Russia in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
