The builders of the Ministry of Defense are completing work on the construction of a new military camp on the territory of the Chechen Republic. It will house units stationed in Chechnya. The building area exceeds 54 hectares, 50 objects have been erected on the territory.
“The project provides for the construction of more than 50 facilities. Including hostels, barracks, canteens, a park area for military equipment, a sports complex, etc. The total building area exceeds 54 hectares,” the Defense Ministry said (TASS quote).
The new military camp is located in the village of Sernovodskoye. Construction began on June 2022. The settlement is planned for this spring.
In July 2022, the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that four battalions would be formed in Chechnya within the structure of the Ministry of Defense. For new units, a new base had to be built. The construction was financed by the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Fund.
