Russian air defense forces at about 17:30 Moscow time shot down a Ukrainian drone in the sky over the Belgorod region, with which Kyiv planned to carry out a terrorist attack, informed Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense.
“An unmanned aerial vehicle was detected and destroyed by Russian air defense systems over the territory of the Belgorod Region,” the report says.
No one was injured in the attack and no damage was recorded.
Formerly Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov informed about a downed drone on approach to the city of Shebekino.
The Belgorod region is regularly shelled by Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region. A high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat operates in the region indefinitely.
August 11 Gladkov informed about a downed drone on approach to Belgorod, and in the village of Zhuravlevka, Belgorod region, the enemy managed to drop a grenade from one drone, there were no casualties or damage. On August 9, 83 shells and two drone attacks were recorded in the region.
