The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying that on Saturday, August 12, at around 5:30 p.m., an attempt by the Ukrainian military to carry out a terrorist attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle on objects in the territory of the Russian Federation was suppressed.
“An unmanned aerial vehicle was detected and destroyed by Russian air defense systems over the territory of the Belgorod Region,” the report says.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stressed that there were no casualties and no damage.
Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported on his Telegram channel that the air defense system had worked in the Shebekinsky urban district.
