The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published an order on determining the procedure for the entry of Russian citizens into volunteer formations. It follows from the order that when selecting candidates for volunteer formations, it is recommended to pay attention to those who have completed military service and have military registration specialties.
The selection will take into account the health, psychological fitness of the future volunteer, including the motivation for entering the formation. The military commissariat can consider candidates within three days.
Additional training of volunteers will take at least ten days. After the conclusion of the contract, the volunteer will be issued a certificate, as well as provided with clothes, food, and cash payments. Behind him is assigned weapons and material and technical means.
November 21, 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on granting the status of a combat veteran to volunteers who participate in the military operation in Ukraine. March 1 Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu approved the procedure for providing volunteers with weapons and equipment.
The formation of volunteer units began in the Russian regions in the first half of 2022. Since the beginning of the special operation in Russia, more than 40 volunteer units have been created.
