Ukraine declared non-involvement in the undermining of the “Nord Streams”

Kyiv did not take part in the sabotage against the Nord Streams. This was stated by adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak on Twitter.

“Ukraine has nothing to do with the incident in the Baltic Sea and has no information about the pro-Ukrainian group,” he wrote.

On March 7, The New York Times, citing American officials reportedthat new intelligence points to the involvement of some pro-Ukrainian group in the attack on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2. At the same time, the newspaper writes, the United States has no evidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky or any of the Ukrainian officials were involved in the sabotage. The sources also did not rule out that the operation could have been carried out “unofficially” through intermediaries associated with the Ukrainian government or special services.

Later German newspaper Zeit reportedthat the German investigation found a vessel that could have participated in the sabotage. According to the publication, traces also lead to Ukraine.

Earlier, Podolyak repeatedly denied Ukraine’s involvement in sabotage at Russian facilities. At the beginning of March he declared, that Kyiv is not involved in the attack on the Bryansk region, noting that Ukraine is “waging a defensive war.” At the same time, the so-called “Russian Volunteer Corps” took responsibility, which is on the side of Ukraine against the Russian army. In the Kremlin, according to a Ukrainian official did not believe.

On December 5, 2022, commenting on reports of explosions at airfields in the Ryazan and Saratov regions, Podolyak said that the objects launched into the air “sooner or later will return to the place of departure.” Officially, Kyiv did not recognize involvement in sabotage.

After the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge on October 8, Podolyak wrote on Twitter: “Crimea, bridge, beginning.” Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied Kyiv’s involvement in the explosion, but in his New Year’s address, he confirmedthat the attack was committed by Ukraine.
