The Russian Aerospace Forces conducted “experiments in orbits with spacecraft of foreign states,” the Defense Ministry said. The department did not provide any details.
Information is provided in message departments for the 65th anniversary of the Space Forces. It notes that the specialists of the main center for reconnaissance of the space situation paid special attention to “monitoring the composition and condition of the orbital groups of foreign space systems.”
The Ministry of Defense also reported that during 2022, the on-duty means of the Russian missile attack warning system, means of space control systems and missile defense systems detected more than 150 launches of “foreign and domestic ballistic missiles and space missiles.”
The military continues to work on the creation of new radar stations of the missile attack warning system in Komi and the Murmansk region. Radar stations of the new generation “Voronezh” are currently on combat duty in the Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Orenburg regions, in the Altai, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk territories.
