Former US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against CNN. He is demanding almost half a billion dollars in compensation from the media.
It is specified that Trump accuses CNN of defamation and demands compensation for moral damages in the amount of $475 million. The lawsuit will be heard in federal court in the state of Florida.
According to the lawyers of the ex-president of America, the channel in recent months has stepped up attacks on their client because of the upcoming presidential election, in which Trump may take part.
“The channel wanted to rock the political balance by labeling Trump with slanderous, scandalous and false labels like ‘Russian lackey’, ‘racist’, ‘rebel’ and ‘Hitler’,” the lawsuit says.
