The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of more than 70 military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnolimansky direction

Over the past day, the Russian military destroyed more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen in the Krasnolimansky direction. This is stated in the latest report of the RF Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special operation.

“On the Krasnolimansky direction <...> more than 70 servicemen, three armored fighting vehicles and four vehicles were destroyed,” said in the message.

In the Yuzhnodonets direction, the enemy lost up to 40 servicemen. More than 50 military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed in the Kupyansk direction. Also, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued their offensive in the Donetsk direction. Over 60 Ukrainian soldiers were killed there in a day.

In addition, in the DPR, the Russian army eliminated two sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs). Another Ukrainian DRG was destroyed in the Liman Pervy area in the Kharkiv region.

In the same area, the RF Armed Forces hit howitzers Krab, М109 “Paladin” and MLRS “Grad”, as well as a warehouse of rocket and artillery weapons. In the part of the Kherson region controlled by Kyiv, two American-made AN / TPQ-50 counter-battery radar stations were destroyed. Stations AN / TPQ-3 and AN / TPQ-48 were hit in the DPR and the Kharkiv region, the Defense Ministry added.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

January 15 Putin noted positive dynamics in the conduct of the special operation. He explained that “everything is developing within the framework of the plan of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.”

In particular, on January 12, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported about taking control of Soledar. The defense ministry stressed that this is of great strategic importance for the further offensive: the Russian army will have the opportunity to block the supply lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemivsk and take the Ukrainian troops remaining in it into the cauldron.
