The Russian military destroyed the joint headquarters of the Bakhmut group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the DPR. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“In the area of the settlement of Konstantinovka, the combined headquarters of the Bakhmut grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was hit,” says in the April 20 summary.
In the Donetsk direction, assault detachments continued active operations in the west of Artemovsk (the Ukrainian name is Bakhmut). They are supported by the Airborne Forces and artillery of the “Southern” group of troops. Over the past 24 hours, aviation has made 10 sorties, and artillery has completed 64 fire missions. As a result, strikes were carried out on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Bogdanovka, Krasnoe and Stupochki in the DPR. During the day, the enemy lost up to 470 people and three tanks in this direction.
More than 60 Ukrainian military personnel and two tanks were destroyed in the Krasnolimansky direction, up to 50 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansky direction, and over 15 in the Kherson direction. Also in the Zaporozhye region, the Russian army stopped the actions of two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
On the eve, April 19, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported about blocking Artemovsk from the south and north. In total, the enemy lost up to 380 Ukrainian servicemen and one tank in the Donetsk direction, the Ministry of Defense specified. In addition, Russian aviation destroyed two Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft in the DPR and one Su-25 in the Kharkiv region. In the Ugledar region in the DPR, the Russian air defense system shot down another Su-25 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of hostilities, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 411 aircraft and 228 helicopters. 3,779 drones were also shot down.
