The Ministry of Agriculture estimated the volume of grain exports from Russia

The export of Russian grain in the current agricultural year (since July 1, 2022) has reached 40 million tons. This was stated by Roman Nekrasov, Director of the Crop Production Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, transmit “RIA News”.

“Today, when the export of Russian grain is already 40 million tons, we understand that, despite all the sanctions, our agrarian, our peasant is competitive at the global level,” Nekrasov said at the final board of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan.

At the same time, he added that 2022, despite the record harvest, created many problems that need to be addressed in order to maintain production volumes at a decent level. Spring 2023 will be a time of quick decisions for Russian farmers, Nekrasov noted. According to him, it will be necessary to carry out soil cultivation quickly and in an organized manner.

RIA Novosti recalled that earlier the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the target for grain exports from Russia in the 2022-2023 agricultural year is about 60 million tons.

In January, Interfax, citing a preliminary assessment by Rosstat wrotethat the grain harvest in Russia in 2022 amounted to 153.8 million tons in net weight, which is 26.69% more than in 2021 (121.4 million tons). In 2020, Russian farmers harvested 133.5 million tons of grain.

The wheat harvest immediately increased by more than 37%: from 76.1 million tons in 2021 to 104.43 million tons in 2022. The harvest of rye increased from 1.7 million to 2.2 million tons, winter barley – from 2 .9 million to 3.2 million tons, spring – from 15.1 million to 20.3 million tons.
