The Minister of the press of Chechnya saw the handwriting of Western intelligence services in the attack on Milashina and Nemov

In the attack on journalist Elena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov in Chechnya, “the style of Western intelligence services” can be traced. About it declared Minister of the Republic for National Policy and Press Akhmed Dudayev in his Telegram channel.

“However, in view of the global processes taking place against the backdrop of a special military operation, it cannot be ruled out that the authors of the attack scenario pursued the goal of yet another discrediting our country before the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. The characteristic handwriting of Western intelligence services can be clearly seen here,” Dudayev wrote.

He noted that in Chechnya no one “is allowed to disturb the peace and security of citizens and guests, even if they are agents of the West.” Dudayev added that law enforcement officers have yet to find out “the true reasons for this provocation and identify its instigators.”

At the same time, the minister said that the reaction of a number of public figures caused him bewilderment, since, according to Dudayev, they are “inflating this topic”, although there was no such reaction to Milashina’s “insults of the Chechen people”.

On July 4, Milashina and Nemov arrived in Grozny for the announcement of the verdict for Zarema Musayeva, the wife of a former judge, who was found guilty today of using violence against a government official. After they drove away from the airport, they were attacked by 10-15 people, told details Milashina. They severely beat the journalist and the lawyer, demanding to reveal the passwords for the equipment. The attackers did not take money and bank cards.

Human Rights Ombudsman in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova in connection with the attack urged to punish the perpetrators and appealed to the law enforcement agencies of Chechnya with a request to conduct an investigation into the attack on Milashina and Nemov “with a view to initiating a criminal case and identifying the perpetrators.”

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to conduct an audit on the fact of the incident and provide a report based on its results. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that he had instructed the services to establish the identity of the attackers on Milashina and Nemov. The Interior Ministry also reportedthat they are checking the fact of the attack in the Akhmatovsky district of Grozny, as a result of which a procedural decision will be made.
