The military correspondent spoke about the elite unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artemovsky direction

In the battles near Artemivsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut), in an attempt to contain the Russian troops, the Ukrainian command will use the 214th separate elite unit – the special OPFOR battalion, war correspondent Alexander Simonov reports.

The battalion was created in 2017 at the initiative of American instructors and the most trained military personnel were recruited into it.

All these years, the main task of the battalion was the highest quality imitation of the actions of the enemy during military exercises, so that the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were initially prepared to fight with a strong opponent. According to the military correspondent, for the entire time of the battalion’s training work there was not a single Ukrainian unit that could defeat it.

“Under Bakhmut, things are not going well for the elite unit. It not only incurs losses, but also replenishes our exchange fund. From there, there are already several prisoners taken by the Wagners in the Kleshcheevka area, ”he wrote.

Earlier, Ukrainian Telegram channels reported that Russian troops were able to advance in the Artemovsk area. According to the Ukrainian servicemen, shelling and constant attacks are being carried out on this territory, mainly at night, by the Russian Armed Forces. It also became known that in the village of Opytnoe near Artemovsk, the area is being cleared from the armed forces of Ukraine.
