FT: Ukrainian officials reported almost complete destruction of power plants

Several power plants in Ukraine, including in the Kharkov region, were almost completely destroyed. Financial Time reported this with reference to local officials. According to Ukrainian politicians, the damage now appears to be worse than in the winter of 2022-2023.

The newspaper writes that Ukraine did not provide detailed information about the extent of damage at each facility.

“but officials said that some of them, including in the Kharkov region <...>were almost completely destroyed,” the media reported.

At the same time, it is noted that the damage caused recently “although not as large-scale, is worse than in the winter of 2022-2023.”

Earlier, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko said that even if Ukraine completely loses all its generation, with the exception of nuclear, there will not be a “total blackout”.
