Alexander Mamai resigned due to fraud and collusion
High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (VAKS) delivered the verdict on the mayor of Poltava Alexander Mamai in the case of embezzlement, abuse of office and the introduction of deliberately false data. The official pleaded guilty and was fired from his post.
According to investigators, Mamai conspired with the director and accountant of one of the municipal organizations and got two women to work there. They helped him with the housework, they did not appear at the enterprise, but they received a salary there.
By agreement with the prosecutor, the mayor of Poltava pleaded guilty and promised to transfer two million hryvnias to the United 24 fund for the drone army project.
Earlier, they tried to hold Mamai accountable for the unauthorized disclosure of classified information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Poltava mayor stated that the information was public knowledge. The court could not determine the measure of restraint for him.
