The curfew on the territory of the Kherson region on the night of April 15-16 is canceled due to the celebration of Easter. April 17 is declared a public holiday. The corresponding indicated was signed by the Acting Governor of the region Vladimir Saldo.
“Orthodox believers and all people who honor traditions will have the opportunity to worthily and joyfully celebrate the Resurrection of Christ,” he said in his Telegramchannel Vladimir Saldo.
Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevhen Balitsky, in turn, decided not to cancel the curfew. He indicatedthat in order to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the region, Easter services will be held taking into account temporary restrictions.
On September 30, 2022, the Kherson region was annexed to Russia along with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye region. After the withdrawal of Russian troops from the right bank of the Dnieper, Kherson came under the control of Ukraine, where the curfew is in effect from 19:00 to 06:30. In the Russian-controlled territory of the Kherson region, the curfew lasts from 22:00 to 5:00.
