The head of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov, instructed to “work” with the city’s karaoke clubs because of the performance of Verka Serduchka’s song (Ukrainian singer Andrey Danilko) “Party” in one of the institutions, in the chorus of which there is a line from the Ukrainian anthem – “Ukraine has not yet died” . “Yevgeny Naumov instructed to work with city karaoke clubs and generally exclude the possibility of such incidents,” the press service said in a statement.
The mayor’s office specified that the incident occurred at the La Major karaoke club. The video with the performance of the song by Verka Serduchka in the institution has spread in social networks, the press service reported.
The manager of “La Major” stated that the club basically does not include songs in Ukrainian, but with the song “Hulyanka” the sound engineer “did not have time to get his bearings, since all the verses are sung in Russian and they are neutral in text,” the press service of the administration reports.
As soon as the chorus in Ukrainian sounded in the song, it was stopped, the manager claims. “Our sound engineer works part-time at weddings, where this song has been constantly sung for 20 years, so I turned it on automatically. Additional explanatory work was carried out with the staff in order to prevent this from happening in the future,” she concluded.
After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, similar incidents with the song “Gulyanka” have already occurred in Russia. So, on October 14, 2022, the head of the municipal cultural institution “Department of Culture of the Kushnarenkovsky District” of Bashkiria Alexander Desyatkin and the director of the regional House of Culture Olesya Vildanova announced a reprimand for this composition, which played on the central square of the village of Kushnarenkovo on October 7 during the fair.
