According to information received from a serviceman of the Center group, German Marder infantry fighting vehicles, due to their low maneuverability, are not suitable for use in combat conditions in the Donbass. This conclusion was made after participating in the restoration of the first captured German infantry fighting vehicle of this type. It was previously announced that Russian military personnel evacuated such equipment from the Avdeevsky sector of the front in Donbass.

According to the source, “the cross-country ability of this vehicle is very limited due to the lack of lugs and the presence of rubber cushions, which greatly impairs its ability to move on various types of terrain. It is intended exclusively for movement on hard surfaces, asphalt roads and, possibly, sandy tracks. In muddy conditions, its maneuverability is significantly reduced.”
